Our Christchurch Butchery team is looking for an experienced, hardworking Butcher and a Mince/ Smallgoods person to join their busy morning shifts.You will be part of a fast-paced team and assist in providing high-quality meat cuts and processing smallgoods.

Location: Woolston, Christchurch
Days of work: Monday to Friday, Alternative Saturdays (early finish)
Shift timings: 3.30 am start till 12.00 pm (approx.)
The Job:
This role encompasses a variety of tasks essential to our meat processing operation. You will be responsible for:
Precisely cutting meat to separate valuable components like meat, fat, and tissue from around bones.
Creating high-quality cuts of meat according to designated specifications, including deboning techniques.
Wrapping and packing finished meat cuts and products to ensure proper hygiene and maintain freshness.
Moving carcasses to the boning table for preparation and operating processing machinery efficiently.
Crumb cuts of meat, marinate, season, and prepare smallgoods as per specified instructions.
Operations sausage filling machines, mincers and vacuum packers.
Making seasonings by mixing spices and adhering to all recipes of production schedules
Packing processed meat stock into cartons for organized storage and future use.
Ensure that the stock is labelled correctly and packed as per Operational SOPs
Check to ensure all meat is stored properly and stock is rotated.
Maintain high standards of Food Safety and Health and Safety at all times

A Trade qualification or relevant butchery experience
Skill and experience in cutting meat and preparing standard meat cuts
Experience in using Handtmann sausage filler linker
Good practical knowledge in mincing procedures on a daily basis
Experience in operating and maintaining meat processing machines.
Proven skills in Beef Boning or Slicing
Around 2-3 years of hands on experience in the industry
Evidence of a referenced, stable work history
Be physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items
A proven commitment to Safety & Wellbeing and Food Safety in the workplace.
Organised, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
