Baker Assistant
Job description
We are a busy Bakery and cafe located in Hawera currently looking for a hard-working
Baker Assistant to join our bakery to prepare high-quality food and follow health & safety
regulations as well as our shop standards.
Our bakery and cafe is looking for a full-time permanent position with a guaranteed 30
hours per week roster between, Monday to Sunday. You will be required to work during
weekends and some public holidays to meet the needs of the business operation hours.
Tasks and Responsibilities:

gathering food ingredients in preparation for cooking and serving
gathering pots and pans in preparation for cooking food ingredients
weighing and measuring ingredients for baking
washing, peeling, cutting, slicing and dicing ingredients for cooking and serving
prepare and cook meat sauce gravy for the baker
storing food supplies, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware in refrigerators,

cupboards, pantries and other storage areas

cleaning floor, and shop windows at the end of the shift
following food safety hygiene and emptying the rubbish bin at the end of shift

Qualification/Work experience:

No qualification or work experience is required; however, the candidate should

have basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Skills and other specifications:

Reliable
Time management skills
Able to follow instructions.
Good at communicating.
Personally fit as it may involve lifting heavy ingredients and being able to stand

for a long period of time.
The pay rate starts from $29.70 per hour depending on your skill level and work
experience.
