Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Kaiwhakahaere Tautoko, Te Taiako - Assistant Manager, Student Learning to join Te Taiako - Student Learning on a permanent, full-time contract. The Kaiwhakahaere Tautoko, Te Taiako - Assistant Manager, Student Learning manages the day-to-day operations of a busy and professional service that provides learning support and advice to students towards their transition, retention, and achievement. Key responsibilities:
Providing teaching, academic and study skills support and oversee the quality of programme and service delivery.
People management as well as staff professional development.
Ō pūmanawa - About you Key requirements:
A postgraduate tertiary qualification and considerable teaching experience at tertiary level or with adult learners.
Successful experience in managing service delivery operations within a tertiary educational organisation and in people management, HR practices and team building.
Passion for teaching and learning and proven understanding of, and ability to relate to the needs of a wide range of students from diverse background and cultures.
Experience in developing and evaluating high-quality tertiary learning programmes.
Ability to build and work in collaborative peer and other stakeholder relationships.
Commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and a sound understanding of its application in a learning context.
