Assistant Accountant - Maternity leave cover
JUCY has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team at JUCY Headquarters. Based near Auckland Airport this is a 12-month fixed-term contract starting in November 2024 to provide maternity leave cover.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will contribute to the Finance team by providing accurate and timely information on Jucy Group’s financial position and performance. The successful applicant will assist where required with reporting across all business units, in accordance with financial reporting standards, sound governance practices and JUCY policies.

About the role and responsibilities:
Assist in the monthly close of core financial processes including:

Daily bank reconciliations

Oversight of branch banking processes to ensure controls and policies are being adhered to

Maintaining the Fixed Asset Registers across the Group

Preparation of month-end journal entries
-
Intercompany recharges and allocations
-
Assist with the preparation of management accounts

Key balance sheet reconciliations
-
Daily EFTPOS and credit card reconciliations
-
Daily/weekly cash-flow forecast
- GST and BAS returns preparation
- Ad-hoc accounting and project work
- Support management to ensure delivery of day-to-day business requirements
- Assist in the end of year's Financial Statements and audit process
- Commerce degree or similar
- 3 years of work experience in a similar role
- Ideally, CA/CPA qualified or working towards these qualifications
- Audit experience beneficial
