Aroturuki Tamariki, the Independent Children's Monitor, is part of the oversight system monitoring Oranga Tamariki and its interface with other government agencies. We provide insights that will drive system change to improve outcomes for tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people), particularly tamariki Māori.
The Data and Insights team provide analysis, insights and reporting on both qualitative and quantitative data. As Kaitātari Raraunga, Analyst Data and Insights, you will mainly work on qualitative analysis of the information our monitoring teams collect during their engagements with communities. You may also work with quantitative data provided by agencies within the oranga tamariki system. You will work closely with other teams throughout the monitoring process to ensure data and information is collected, recorded, analysed and reported accurately and to a high standard.
This is a junior role that offers scope to grow a broad range of skills with responsibilities including, but not limited to, data entry and analysis, quality assurance, and report writing.
We are looking for people with:
a relevant tertiary qualification and at least one year of relevant work experience
strong qualitative analysis skills, ideally with experience of NVivo
ability to write clear, concise reports
great relationship management and communication
a can-do attitude and a delivery focus
quantitative analysis skills/experience with software such as MS Excel, SQL, Power BI (of interest but not essential for this role).

This role will be appointed based on skills and experience and the salary range is $68,660 - $83,003.
