Our Client specializes in the conversion of adhesive tapes, films, foams, and felts. They offer a wide range of services, including die-cutting, laminating, specialty slitting, and rewinding large log rolls and sheets into custom-made adhesive components. While their primary target sector is automotive, they also produce products for other industries. As our Client is leaning towards international expansion, they are preparing to open their first international operation in Tangier, Morocco. Therefore, we are seeking an entrepreneurial Sales Director, who will be the first employee of our client in this location and later transition into the role of Country Manager for the local operation. Responsibilities: New Site Launch & Expansion:
Assist in identifying potential locations for the company’s new site, considering market dynamics, logistical advantages, and growth opportunities.
Lead the planning, development, and launch of the new site, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure smooth execution.
Oversee the process of securing necessary permits, approvals, and ensuring compliance with local regulations for the new site.
Stakeholder & Authority Liaison:
Collaborate closely with the Tangier Free Zone Administration, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with zone regulations.
Work with industry authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure the company meets all relevant legislative requirements.
Maintain regular communication with government agencies, trade organizations, and other relevant bodies affecting the automotive sector.
Client Acquisition & Deal Management:
Develop and execute strategies to acquire new automotive clients and secure key deals.
Identify and target potential automotive partners, negotiating contracts to expand the company’s portfolio.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective automotive clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Oversee the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring that all sales activities are aligned with company goals.
Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies and tactics as needed.
Responsibility for Company Matters & Legislation:
Oversee all company matters within the region, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, E2E responsibility of the company operation
Stay informed of changes in legislation impacting the automotive sector, advising the company on necessary actions to remain compliant.
Ensure all contracts, agreements, and business activities are aligned with relevant legislation, safeguarding the company’s interests.
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team, setting clear objectives and ensuring the team meets or exceeds performance targets.
Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and development opportunities to enhance the skills of colleagues.
Foster a collaborative and goal-oriented work environment, encouraging innovation and best practices within the team.
Reporting & Liaison with Headquarters:
Regularly report to headquarters on sales performance, market trends, and key developments.
Liaise closely with HQ and other departments to align sales strategies with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Provide insights and recommendations to HQ on commercial strategies, pricing models, and client feedback.

Responsibility and ownership over the full operation
Strong and up-to-date knowledge of Tangier Free Zone Administration and related legislation, good understanding of business environment in Morocco (ability to liaise with authorities and other related stakeholders)
Active strong network in automotive industry across Morocco (OEMs, Tier-1, Tier-2 suppliers, etc…)
At least 5 years of experience working for automotive clients, preferably with plastic moulding/converting background (either sales or procurement background)
Excellent negotiation skills, strong business, and commercial acumen – ability to close complex deals through consultative selling for large B2B buyers
Fluent French, Arabic and English language skills
Good people management skills (ability to lead and manage future team, including white- and blue-collar staff)
Willingness to travel frequently within the country and to Europe (Romania)
