Position Summary:
Responsible for establishing work standards to maintain and improve productivity. Ensures that the production standard system is in accord with the Labor Agreement.
Primary Responsibilities:

Performs time-studies to establish production goals.

Restudies certain operations upon request, due to changes in customer specifications, equipment improvements, employee grievances etc. Reviews and recommends answer to grievances concerning goals or methods.

Continues to review production reports daily for proper usage of present work standards and review application of standards for proper usage to keep abreast of plant production goals system and maintain a high quality system.

Develops plans for standardizing manufacturing and inspection methods and equipment and preparing data such as time, material and cost estimates. Prepares labor estimates for job costing.

Writes Standard Practices (work instructions), calculates Standard Goal Changes, discusses time-study and production flow with operators to create best work path for production flow. Reviews all labor variance and missing cost information.

Performs project assignments involving data collection, packaging, program development, installation and project review. Refers to specifications, goals, production schedules and reports, inspection and scrap reports, standard cost sheets etc., in collection of required data.

Prepares detailed report, with recommendations on manufacturing and inspection methods, machinery, equipment and personnel requirements, time and material costs, labor variances and cost comparison of various courses of action. Implements piece flow layout/operation process and coordinates Kanban system, six sigma projects, SMED, Kaizen, mold cleaning and continuous improvement activity.

Supports the Quality Management System IATF 16949.

Follows projects, manufacturing changes etc., being installed and works with Process and Project Engineers, Production Managers and Shift Supervisors in solving problems encountered and in refining processes, work methods etc.

Keeps up to date on new developments in the rubber industry through reading technical literature, membership in professional associations, attending seminars and visits to other rubber company plants.

Reviews new and existing jobs/packages for labor, material tooling bid and quoting. Monitor inquiry status for timely completion and return.

Designs CAD drawing of plant and places new equipment in production area.

Calculates cost reductions and/or various analyses to determine optimal method, evaluates various financial reports i.e. margin, budget and standards.

Maintains BOM, BPCS routing operations, and Kronos standards.

Supports the Environmental Management System for the plant.
