The NVH Project Performance Engineer for but not limited to:
Leading NVH activities on propulsion systems (conventional and/or electrified) for all responsible programs
Ensuring NVH assessments are conducted at each program gate; and will engage release teams and ensure that NVH enablers are implemented into the final design
Supporting relevant NVH activities to integrate the propulsion system into the vehicle and to achieve NVH vehicle targets
Preparing and presenting clear and concise presentations for management reviews
Managing value optimization (VO) activities of propulsion systems while maintaining intended NVH character at product/vehicle level
Acting as the liaison between the Propulsion System organization and Vehicle organization with regards to NVH attributes on a system level
Overseeing process improvement actions in the organization to improve operational and economic efficiencies.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
5 years of NVH engineering experience
Fundamental understanding of propulsion and vehicle system NV
Hands-on automotive experience in propulsion systems NVH, including conventional and Hybrid ICE, electric motors, gearboxes, and power inverter modules
Strong planning and organizational skills
Demonstrated capability in effectively using NVH measurements and tools i.e. LMS Test.Lab, HEAD Acoustics Artemis, Rotec, Mueller BBM, Matlab, Simulink
Experience with Sound pressure measurement for propulsion systems per Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE J1074), sound intensity and sound power measurements per International Organization of Standardization (ISO 3744 & 3745), vehicle interior noise measurements (SAE J336), sound quality measurements and analysis
NVH Root-cause analysis using Transfer Path, Modal and Angle Domain Analysis
Proven record of demonstrating the ability to solve technical problems and address current issues in the field of Propulsion System NVH (conventional and Hybrid ICE, electric motors, gearboxes, and power inverter modules)
Working knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (FFT) and ability to work with electronic control modules (ECMs) and the latest CAN communication protocols
Position Requirements (Preferred Qualifications):
Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university.
Prior experience leading product development at automotive OEM
Ability to be extremely adaptable and embrace changes
