Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician II to join our dedicated Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, efficiency, and security of our data center infrastructure. You will perform advanced technical tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to process improvements that enhance our operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise and a commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Perform routine and complex maintenance tasks on data center equipment, including servers, storage systems, and network devices. Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, leveraging diagnostic tools and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents efficiently. Monitor system performance using data center management tools and respond promptly to alerts, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Implement and adhere to data center policies and procedures, including change management, incident management, and security protocols. Participate in data center projects, such as equipment installations, migrations, and upgrades, ensuring they are completed within defined timelines and quality standards. Support capacity planning by tracking resource utilization. Document all activities thoroughly and accurately, maintaining clear and up-to-date records in compliance with audit requirements. Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to coordinate repairs, replacements, or upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and effective communication. Respond promptly to emergency situations, following established contingency plans. Support team leader to provide training and guidance to junior technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Position Requirement
Minimum qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; additional technical certifications (e.g., Comp TIA A+, Network+, Server+) are a plus. Able to communicate in English. 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Center Technician or in a related IT operations role. Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking (Cisco, Juniper), and power/cooling systems. Proficient in troubleshooting techniques for hardware and network issues. Familiarity with data center management software and monitoring tools. Able to work on-site in Queretato, Mexico 100% of the time. Flexibility to work off-hours, weekends, or be on-call as part of a rotation schedule. Must hold Mexican citizenship. Preferred qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of ITIL processes and IT service management best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Able to communicate in both English and Spanish. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Industry certifications such as Comp TIA Server+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are highly desirable. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities, and security, to ensure seamless operation and continuous improvement of data center processes.
