Safety Health Officer
Responsibilities as Safety Health Officer:
Contract length: 12 months

- Leads the organization reports to Project Manager
- Required to be present on-site during WORKS to monitor the safety performance of their personnel. Provides the necessary training program and implementation for all staff.
- Responsible for overall HSE related matters at site by ensuring safe practice by all workers and ensure compliance to the applicable rules & regulations.
- Ensure that the WORKS comply with OPU HSE rules, regulations, and safety procedures, and liaise directly with the OPU HSE Coordinator.
- Reviews performance against policies and objectives set and yearly plan.
- Responsible for conducting Safety Briefing and toolbox meeting to all workers prior to work execution.
- Responsible to audit workplace on daily basis encompasses workers, equipment and work condition and to highlight to the management for any issues encountered.
- Responsible to join weekly/monthly audit by client at site.
- Responsible to prepare daily report which consists of no. of Permit to Work (PTW), no. of UCUA submitted, no. of manpower etc.
- Responsible for actively conducting and participating in the HSE programs and activities organized by the company.
- Responsible to set a good example to all workers and to nurture a safe working culture for all personnel.
- Responsible for maintaining good relationships with clients, workers and colleagues.
- Responsible to issue stop work order if there is unsafe condition and/or unsafe act available at site.
- Responsible for endorsing JHA and assisting Safety Officer to follow-up with client on the approval status.
- Responsible for executing all tasks and assignments delegated by superior related to HSE matters.
- Certified as Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with at least a diploma or competency certification from DOSH.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, with relevant computer literacy certificates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience as a Safety Health Officer in the Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical industry.
- Preference for candidates with Medical Offshore, BOSOSS, and OGSP certifications.
Contract length: 12 months
