Reports To: Workshop Supervisor Position Overview: The Heavy Trucks Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy-duty trucks according to manufacturer standards. The technician will ensure high-quality work and customer satisfaction while adhering to safety protocols and regulations. Key Responsibilities: 1.Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: •Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy trucks using specialized equipment and tools. •Identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues accurately and efficiently. 2.Maintenance and Repairs: •Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and other preventive measures. •Perform complex repairs on engines, transmissions, steering, braking systems, and other components. •Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards. 3.Documentation and Reporting: •Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work. •Report any additional issues found during inspections to the workshop Supervisor and recommend necessary repairs. 4.Parts and Inventory Management: •Order and manage parts inventory needed for repairs and maintenance. •Ensure all parts are accounted for and properly installed. 5.Customer Service: •Communicate effectively with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any necessary repairs. •Provide recommendations for preventive maintenance and answer any technical questions. 6.Safety and Compliance: •Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations: Ensure the workshop and all tools and equipment are kept in a safe, clean, and organized manner. 7.Continuous Improvement: •Stay updated with the latest technical information and advancements related to Mercedes heavy trucks. •Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills. Qualifications: 1.Education: •High school diploma or equivalent. •Technical certification or associate degree in automotive technology or a related field. 2.Experience: •Minimum of 5 years of experience at heavy truck dealership in maintenance and repair, specifically with Mercedes trucks. •Proven experience with diagnostic tools and equipment for heavy trucks. 3.Skills and Competencies: •Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. •Proficiency in using technical manuals and schematics. •Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. •Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members. •Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 4. Certifications: •Mercedes-Benz specific training and certifications (preferred). 5. Physical Requirements: •Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and equipment. •Stamina to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and lying down. •Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. 6.Other Requirements: •Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. •Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed. 7.
