CONTRACT
DB2 Admin and Recover Expert
- Key Responsibilities:
- DB2 Administration: Manage and maintain DB2 databases on z/OS. Perform daily DBA tasks, including backup, recovery, maintenance, and performance tuning.
- DB2 Admin and Recover Expert on z/OS
- DB2 Data Replicator for real-time data replication
- Query Management Facility (QMF) on z/OS
- DB2 Query Monitor for SQL performance analysis
- Familiarity with DB2 on Linux and Windows environments
- Performance tuning and optimization in DB2 environments
- Strong knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python, REXX)
- Recover Expert: Implement DB2 Recover Expert for efficient recovery strategies, ensuring data protection and system availability.
- Data Replicator: Configure and manage DB2 Data Replicator for real-time data replication and synchronization across platforms.
- Query Management Facility (QMF): Provide support and administration for DB2 QMF, including query optimization and report generation for end-users.
- DB2 Query Monitor: Utilize DB2 Query Monitor on z/OS to track and analyze SQL performance, identify bottlenecks, and provide tuning recommendations.
- Linux/Windows Administration: Support DB2 instances running on Linux and Windows platforms, performing installations, upgrades, and maintenance as required.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize DB2 databases for performance, including indexing strategies, memory allocation, and SQL query optimization.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce DB2 security best practices, ensuring compliance with data governance and privacy standards.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and execute backup and recovery plans using DB2’s native tools as well as 3rd-party tools.
- Automation: Automate routine database management tasks, such as health checks, backups, and performance monitoring, using scripts and automation tools.
- Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues, providing timely support to development and operations teams.
- Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to provide database support and technical expertise.
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: KD1,800.000 - KD2,000.000 per month
