OCS are currently looking to recruit a Security Division Training Manager located at our North Dublin Head office. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The Training Manager will fundamentally support the organisation’s success and continuous improvement of the safety and competency of all front-line security personnel, through the development, delivery, and assessment of role specific training.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of health & safety, professional competency and client specified training within OCS Security Services.
The successful candidate will liaise with both the Director of Security Services and the Director of HSQE & Compliance, on a regular basis, to ensure a strong focus is maintained on the needs of the company, our clients and business strategy. These are all key, as they are factors for consideration when establishing the relevant trends and training needs of each contract and client specific requirements.
The Security Training Manager also holds a key responsibility in assessing the suitability of all new candidates, prior to being accepted for a position within the OCS Security Division.
The role involves actively researching, creatively designing, and implementing effective methods to educate, enhance performance and assess company developmental needs to drive training initiatives and suitable training solutions for employees to improve employee safety, professional competency, and enhance overall performance.
This position is also open to applicants who have an appropriate level of operational security experience, can display a high degree of industry knowledge, possess the appropriate key attributes required for this role and who are keen to move to a training delivery role.
Responsibilities
  • Developing training programs/ contents .
  • Continuously assessing and modifying training programs as required.
  • Working effectively as a team member and with other members of management.
  • Providing training and support to managers, supervisors and others involved in employee training and development activities.
  • Developing effective training materials, utilising a wide variety of media.
  • Management and maintenance of training records and training matrix on a weekly basis.
  • Ensuring you are up to date with latest trends, developments, and best practice in training.
  • Overall accountability for building the training program and content delivery for the security division
  • Conducting annual refresher training in line with PSA standards
  • Actively monitoring training needs across the division and address accordingly
  • Management and review of the security team training plan
  • Preparing Management reports to include all training statistics.
  • Ensuring there is a continuous improvement plan in relation to any non-compliant.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining all online / offline training tools.
  • Monitoring and measuring training performance and results
  • Training off site if applicable.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a key attribute to this role.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to use your initiative.
  • Leadership skills
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing training programs.
  • Training and developing security personnel.
  • Monitoring compliance with laws and policies.
  • Evaluating performance and providing feedback.
Education and Experience:
  • Advanced/Higher Certificate (required)
  • Minimum QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience designing and implementing employee training programs is desirable.
