A UK leading multi-award winning building services contractor are currently seeking a Pre-Construction Manager in supporting their expanding pre-construction team at their new office in Dundalk, as a fundamental role in managing pre-construction processes and deliverables on multiple large scale projects throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, including decarbonisation, renewable energy, data centre, healthcare, commercial, high rise residential, educational, and airport projects.

Alternative Heat is a specialist building services contractor that carries out design, manufacture and installation of new build and retrofit decarbonisation and renewable energy projects as well as modular mechanical & electrical prefabricated products, with a reputation for construction quality and delivery of projects to the highest standard, where the pre-construction processes are an integral element in assisting with the delivery strategy and ensuring efficient operations across all tender, estimation, design, offsite manufacturing and onsite installation project stages.

Responsibilities
Appraisal of project documentation received to determine the project brief and scope of works to be outlined to the pre-construction team
Evaluate project requirements to set out an effective project delivery strategy and project team deliverables
Lead the pre-construction efforts, collaborating with the design team, estimating department and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project proposals
Identify value engineering alternatives that can benefit project delivery and cost
Identify potential risks associated with the project delivery and provide solutions to address them through internal team workshops
Lead on processes and deliverables for the pre-construction team to adhere to whilst maintaining focus on agreed programme delivery dates
Collaborate with the pre-construction department coordinators and BIM teams to develop required documentation, 3D modelling and 2D drawings to assist with project delivery
Coordinate with external consultants to ensure compliance with project requirements and in alignment with relevant regulations and standards
Review developed deliverables by project team across all disciplines – M&E building services, BMS controls, structural, and construction to ensure all meets project requirements prior issue to client for approval
Host client project meetings with the relevant internal and client teams ensuring client project requirements are being met and continued progression on project delivery
Host internal project team meetings to review the status of project deliverables to review and raise any potential project risks with the team and agree corrective actions where applicable
Liaise and assist the site operations teams assigned to projects to deliver the offsite construction and onsite installation philosophy
Lead handover meetings to the operations teams at an agreed project stage
Prepare and issue weekly status reports on the pre-construction deliverables
Monitor the progress and quality of pre-construction activities
Occasional travel may be required to complete site appraisal surveys on new projects
Any other duties deemed necessary by Management
Criteria
Essential Criteria:
Strong building services background with minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical or contract management or similar
Competent understanding of mechanical systems in medium to large commercial projects
Competent understanding of multi-disciplinary design processes and design coordination
Excellent leadership and communication skills and previous experience in managing a team
Excellent time management skills
Pro Efficient in Microsoft office Packages – Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Power Point, Microsoft teams
Desirable Criteria:
