Job Description Hanley Energy is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for complex mechanical engineering projects in the electrical power industry, working closely with customers to understand their needs and implement innovative solutions using the latest technologies. Key Responsibilities:
Design of all sheet metal parts, electrical enclosures, electrical component baseplate layouts, and structural components.
Mentor junior design engineers and CAD technicians.
Oversee production of mechanical components, ensuring adherence to standards such as UL 508A, IEC 61439, and IEC 62208.
Lead and develop BIM capability within the team.
Collaborate with the electrical design team on various projects.
Lead mechanical-oriented internal and customer R&D projects.
Provide full pre-production support, including orders, BOM, and drawings.
Offer technical support during the production and assembly process.
Continuously improve and develop Mechanical Department processes.
Prepare documentation such as assembly drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, and training materials.
Qualifications:
Proven knowledge and experience in Solidworks 3D modeling software.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Solidworks and integration with manufacturing processes, CAM, CNC machinery, etc.
Familiarity with sheet metal design and manufacturing.
Basic knowledge of REVIT is advantageous.
Previous experience with electrical enclosures, modular electrical equipment, and structural skids is beneficial.
Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives and deliver value.
Strong work ethic with a focus on delivery and quality.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Self-starter with the ability to manage own work effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluent English.
Valid Irish work permit is essential.
