Job Description: As a HGV Mechanic at Smith Vehicle Solutions Ltd, you will be responsible for the upkeep and management of our fleet, which includes performing routine maintenance, repairs, and conducting 12-week inspections to ensure all vehicles meet safety and compliance standards. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime and ensuring the fleet operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a fleet of 20 heavy goods vehicles.
Conduct comprehensive 12-week inspections on all vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on trucks and trailers.
Maintain accurate records of all services, inspections, and repairs performed on the vehicles.
Ordering of parts and managment of stock.
Work closely with the operations team to schedule maintenance and minimize vehicle downtime.
Maintain a clean and tidy workshop and Ensure a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years experience as a HGV Mechanic, with specific expertise in conducting Inspections, maintenance and repairs on trailers .
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
A full, clean driving license (HGV license preferred but not essential).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €45,000.00 per year
