The Opportunity
We are now seeking a Head of Capacity Funding and Delivery to join the Operations & Asset Management Office.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Operations & Asset Management Officer and be a member of Eir Grid’s extended leadership team.
As Head of Capacity Funding and Delivery, you will be responsible for the efficient, transparent and effective operation and management of the groups auction portfolio (Capacity Market, Renewable Energy Support Scheme (Onshore & Offshore).
Your role will have significant commercial impact, interacting directly with current and future energy industry customers, Regulators and Government Departments. You will be responsible for the efficient, transparent and effective operation and management of the groups auction portfolio (Capacity Market, Renewable Energy Support Scheme (Onshore & Offshore).
You will be capable of representing the company externally with Market Participants, Regulatory Authorities and major customers. In addition, you will liaise significantly with Government departments and work in partnership with the Group Financial Controller on liquidity and funding matters, ensuring a superior stakeholder management experience is delivered through effective stakeholder engagement.
We will look to you to operate an efficient and transparent pre-qualification, qualification, auction and post auction process across all markets, deliver within committed timeframes whilst ensuring high levels of accuracy, liaising with external service providers as required
You will lead, motivate and engage a high performing team to deliver the required customer expectations in an operationally effective and efficient manner.
As part of your role, you will manage budgets, develop business plans and resource plans in line with the group standards and guidelines as expected of a commercial semi-state organisation. You will manage the interactions with internal teams to support pre-qualification, qualification and post auction monitoring processes for the auction’s portfolio, coordinating the necessary input from other teams
You will also Chair the internal Auction Boards, to lead transparent decision making, whilst also securing internal coordination, co-operation and approvals
About you
Successful candidates will have:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in any discipline
- Significant experience in a customer facing leadership role
- Outstanding people leader, capable of working through management direct reports to lead and motivate a large team of people to deliver on the objectives of the company
- Experience of creating, leading and influencing high performing teams in changing circumstances
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Knowledge and experience of the electricity industry or utility sector, with experience in a highly process driven, and technology enabled sector
- Experience in delivering change and developing business processes and continuous improvement
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, demonstrate resilience and be comfortable with ambiguity
