Food Safety Officer Carlow €35k to €40k
As a Part-Time Food Safety & Quality Assurance Officer, your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €35,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
- Oversee the implementation and management of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) in accordance with current legislation and prescribed standards.
- Lead the internal HACCP team and manage food safety standards through a comprehensive internal auditing program.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities (DAFM, FSAI) to ensure legal compliance and manage regulatory, third-party, and customer audits and inspections (BRC, Bord Bia, LEAF).
- Manage the supplier and product approval protocol to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure alignment of the Management Team with Food Safety and Quality (FS&Q) objectives.
- Perform audits of FSMS compliance, identify areas for improvement, and work with the team to resolve issues.
- Proven experience in a Food Safety & Quality Assurance role, preferably within the food distribution or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, food safety regulations, and standards (BRC, Bord Bia, LEAF, FSAI, DAFM).
- Experience managing FSMS, conducting audits, and leading HACCP teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
