Job Summary: The Telecom Tower Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications towers, antennas, and associated equipment. The role involves ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of technicians and tower climbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom towers and equipment.
Assign tasks to team members, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope.
Provide training and guidance to team members on safety procedures, technical standards, and best practices.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of work sites to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
Project Management:
Plan and coordinate project timelines, resources, and budgets for telecom tower installations and maintenance.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Communicate project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Technical Oversight:
Oversee the installation and alignment of antennas, coaxial cables, and other telecom equipment on towers.
Ensure that all equipment is installed and maintained according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to tower operations and equipment.
Quality Control:
Perform inspections to ensure that all work meets quality standards and project specifications.
Review and approve completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Logistics & Inventory Management:
Manage the inventory of tools, materials, and equipment needed for tower operations.
Coordinate the transportation and storage of equipment and materials to and from job sites.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work performed, including site surveys, work orders, and maintenance logs.
Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, safety incidents, and team performance.
Ensure that all documentation is completed and filed according to company and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate or technical degree or certification in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in telecommunications tower installation, maintenance, or a related field.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of telecom tower construction, maintenance, and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using relevant tools, equipment, and software.
