Job Title: Stock Auditor Location: Jubilee Hills Department: Audit Reports to: Team Lead Objective: The Stock Auditor is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the stock records in Krishna Jewellery Pearls & Gems by performing regular stock audits, verifying physical stock against system records, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring proper stock management practices are followed. Key Responsibilities: 1) Stock Audits & Reconciliation:
Conduct regular physical stock audits of jewellery items, including gold, silver, diamonds, pearls and other precious stones.
Verify the accuracy of stock records in the inventory management system by comparing them with physical stock.
Ensure all stock is counted, categorized and recorded correctly during the audits. 2) Inventory Management:
Assist in managing stock movements, including receiving new stock, transfers between branches and stock returns.
Monitor and report on slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged items and recommend appropriate actions (e.g., return to vendor, re-polishing, etc.).
Ensure proper tagging, labelling, and coding of all jewellery items for accurate tracking. 3) Discrepancy Identification & Resolution:
Identify and investigate discrepancies between physical and system stock during audits.
Prepare and present audit reports with findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
Collaborate with the sales, inventory, and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies. 4) Compliance & Security:
Ensure adherence to the company’s policies and procedures regarding stock control and management.
Implement security measures to prevent stock theft, pilferage, or loss.
Conduct random spot checks of stock to ensure consistent compliance with stock control processes. 5) Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all stock audit activities.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock audit reports and submit them to the management for review.
Ensure all stock-related documents, including invoices and receipts, are properly filed and maintained. 6) System Updates & Accuracy:
Update inventory records in the software system after each audit.
Work with the IT department to ensure the stock management software is functioning effectively and accurately.
Train relevant staff on the importance of maintaining accurate stock records and following inventory procedures. 7) Loss Prevention & Cost Control:
Monitor and minimize stock variances by implementing strict stock control measures.
Recommend improvements to reduce shrinkage, damages, and losses.
Assist management in identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities related to inventory management.
Skills & Qualifications: o Education: Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, or a related field. o Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in stock auditing, inventory management, or a related role, preferably in a jewellery or luxury goods environment. o Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, POS) and Microsoft Excel for stock analysis. o Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in stock counts and record-keeping. o Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze stock discrepancies, identify patterns, and recommend solutions. o Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports and communicate with different teams. o Integrity: High level of integrity and trustworthiness, as this role involves handling valuable inventory.
