The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of the construction industry. The Purchase Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Procurement Process Management: Source and purchase construction materials, tools, equipment, and services according to project requirements and timelines. - Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality materials at the best prices. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure smooth supply chain operations. - Cost Management: Monitor and control costs to meet project budgets. Compare prices and quality of different suppliers to ensure optimal procurement. - Inventory Management: Track inventory levels, ensuring timely replenishment of materials to avoid delays in construction schedules. Coordinate with site teams to understand material needs. - Purchase Orders and Documentation: Prepare and process purchase orders, agreements, and other relevant documentation. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures. - Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, price fluctuations, and new materials or technologies relevant to the construction sector. - Reporting: Provide regular reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance to senior management. Key Skills and Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree - Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Purchase Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry. - Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, tools, equipment, and procurement best practices. - Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and communication skills to establish favorable terms with vendors. - Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and compare supplier offers and make data-driven decisions. - Organization: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
