Job Summary: The Chemical Plant Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring equipment used in the manufacturing of resins. The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical processing, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities:
Operate Equipment: Start up, shut down, and operate equipment used in the resin manufacturing process, including reactors, mixers, and pumps.
Monitor Processes: Continuously monitor production processes, including temperature, pressure, and chemical levels, ensuring they remain within specified parameters.
Adjust Settings: Make necessary adjustments to equipment settings based on real-time data and process requirements.
Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of production activities, including batch numbers, material usage, and any deviations from standard procedures.
Quality Control: Perform routine quality checks and tests on resins to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.
Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or process deviations, and work with maintenance personnel to resolve issues promptly.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
Preventative Maintenance: Assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other operators, supervisors, and quality control personnel to ensure seamless production and resolve any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in chemical processing or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a chemical plant operator or in a similar role, with specific experience in resin manufacturing highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong understanding of chemical processes and equipment.
Proficiency in monitoring and adjusting production parameters.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, and work in a variety of environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, noisy).
