Qualification: Advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Social Work, Anthropology or related fields.
Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in wildlife conservation projects, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Broad Responsibilities :
Project Leadership:
- Responsible for the execution of the project implementation plan and the delivery of the outcomes, outputs and activities of the project
- Oversee all aspects of project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Raising and managing resources for project implementation.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, local communities, and academic institutions.
- Negotiate and manage Mo Us and collaborative agreements, such as with the state forest departments
Capacity Building:
- Build capacity among local communities, forest department personnel, and conservation practitioners on human wildlife conflict management.
- Facilitate training workshops, knowledge exchange programs and skill development initiatives.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Analyse data and draft technical reports with inputs from the team members.
- Prepare regular progress reports as per project milestones.
- Maintain project database and ensure documentation of project activities and expenditures for internal and external reporting purposes.
Communication:
- Share demonstrable conservation measures with stakeholders to support wildlife conservation at local, regional, and national levels.
- Develop strategies to communicate about the importance of wildlife and forests among diverse stakeholders
Skills:
- Proven track record of successful project management, including budget management and team coordination.
- Strong understanding of interdisciplinary approaches for managing the human wildlife conflicts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in English and Malayalam.
