Occupational Therapist (Specializing in Pediatric and Developmental Disabilities) We are seeking a licensed occupational therapist to join our growing team of medical professionals. You will be working with children who have developmental disabilities, such as autism, to help them gain and improve their abilities so they can achieve their highest potential. Duties will include conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients, developing individualized treatment plans, assessing home and educational environments, and creating tailored rehabilitation programs. A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and a state license is required to be considered as a candidate. To be a successful hire, you will need to have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and therapy programs for children with special needs. Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:
Conducting comprehensive physical and psychological assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan.
Assessing home and educational environments of clients and deciding on necessary adjustments to support the child’s needs.
Advising on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities and improve their quality of life.
Developing tailored rehabilitation programs to help clients regain or develop new skills.
Preparing clients for daily activities and interactions in educational settings.
Educating caregivers and family members on patient care and therapeutic techniques to support the child’s development at home.
Evaluating results and progress of occupational therapy on clients to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Maintaining professional knowledge and staying current with technical progress in order to provide clients with the best treatment programs available.
Complying with federal, state, and local certification requirements.
Evaluating patient condition regarding physical, developmental, and basic mental health.
Occupational Therapist Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a university recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Certification by the All India Occupational Therapists' Association (AIOTA) or relevant state authorities.
Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.
Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and therapy programs for children with developmental disabilities.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with children and their families.
Ability to take care of clients with different personalities and needs.
Comfortable using a computer for various tasks, including documentation and teletherapy.
Ability to assess patient conditions and work with individualized treatment plans.
