Job Description: HAZOP Chairman
Location: On-site plant based in Bagalkote, Karnataka
Department: Safety & Risk Management
Job Type: 1-month Contract
Remuneration: Rs 1 Lac + Travel + Accommodation + Food
Job Summary
The HAZOP Chairman is responsible for leading and facilitating Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies to identify and evaluate potential hazards associated with processes and systems within the plant. This role involves ensuring that the HAZOP process is conducted in a systematic and thorough manner, promoting safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and Planning

• Review project documentation, including process flow diagrams, 95 P&IDs, and other relevant materials prior to meetings.
• Ensure all critical areas are covered.

Hazard Identification and Assessment

• Identify potential hazards and operability problems associated with the process.
• Ensure that all findings are thoroughly documented and evaluated for risk significance.

Recommendations and Reporting

• Provide clear recommendations for risk mitigation and improvement measures based on study findings.
• Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing the HAZOP study, findings, and recommendations for management review.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies regarding safety and risk management.
• Stay updated on best practices and changes in relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in process safety, risk assessment, or related field, with specific experience in leading HAZOP studies.
• Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., HAZOP certification, Certified Safety Professional) are an advantage.

Skills

• Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of HAZOP methodology and risk assessment techniques.
• Ability to analyze complex processes and identify potential hazards.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

• This position requires on-site work at the plant and interaction with various teams, including engineering, operations, and management.
• The role involves travel to different sites as necessary for conducting HAZOP studies.
