Customize drinks based on guest preferences, including milk options, flavor syrups, and temperature adjustments.
Maintain a deep knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and beverage ingredients to provide recommendations to guests.
Guest Interaction & Service:
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Take customer orders efficiently and accurately, assisting with any questions about the menu.
Serve beverages and food items promptly while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Handle guest complaints or requests promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment properly and safely.
Regularly clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment to ensure quality and safety standards.
Report any equipment malfunctions to the manager immediately.
Café Cleanliness & Organization:
Ensure the café area is clean and well-organized, including tables, counters, and beverage preparation areas.
Regularly sanitize workstations, coffee machines, and utensils in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Replenish and organize supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, and packaging materials as needed.
Cash Handling & Billing:
Accurately process orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Handle payments, including cash, card, and digital transactions.
Balance the cash register at the end of the shift.
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
Communicate inventory needs to the manager for timely reordering.
Promotions & Upselling:
Promote daily specials, new menu items, and seasonal beverages to guests.
Suggest food pairings (e.g., pastries, sandwiches) to complement beverages and increase sales.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the café team to ensure smooth service, especially during peak hours.
Assist with other café tasks as needed, such as food preparation or cleaning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in hospitality or barista training is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience as a barista or in a café/coffee shop environment is preferred.
