As the Global Strategic Partnerships Associate you’ll play a key role in the implementation of Room to Read’s fundraising strategy by adding to our pipeline of prospects, stewarding donor relationships, managing the Gifts In-Kind (GINKI) portfolio, and supporting the Strategic Partnerships Director on proposals, Requests for Quotations, and Requests for Applications.

What You’ll Do:
Raise/manage between $500k-750k+ annually from multilateral/bilateral entities, prizes, and/or institutional donors and manage these relationships.
Manage and steward our $4-6MM+ annual In-Kind Gifts portfolio and serve as a central lead across internal departments.
Identify donor pipeline prospects, as well as relevant development of related transformational proposals to help scale Room to Read’s global impact. These could include funding for planned activities, as well as growth opportunities in new or existing geographies, technical assistance, projects or partnership activities as part of bilateral/multilateral project bids, prizes, and awards.
Independently, or in collaboration with other team members, write, edit and/or coordinate clear, compelling materials including concept papers, letters of inquiry, proposals, presentations, reports, and additional materials, as needed;
Steward existing portfolio of donors and negotiate grant renewals, upgrades, or extensions.
Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Partnerships on opportunity forecasting and proposal pipeline tracking process; report on and update revenue projections.
Lead or support handover of project from proposal phase to project kick-off in accordance with Project Management Guidelines in coordination with Program Operations team;
Work closely with Finance Department to ensure budgets for proposals and financial reports are appropriately represented;
Stay current with organizational strategies and operational plans in order to present accurate funding opportunities to donors;
Maintain relevant donor data in the organization’s Salesforce-based platform.
In your first 3 to 6 months, you will:
Take on incremental leadership of gifts-in kind program.
Begin supporting Director of Strategic Partnerships in bilateral/multilateral opportunity tracking.
Consider opportunities to generate new business for the team.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience (nonprofit or client relationship management).
Preference given to someone with a proven track record of obtaining global corporate and foundation funding in the $50,000 to $100,000 gift range.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward donor relationships.
Highly developed relationship, interpersonal, and listening skills.
Excellent writing, editing, verbal and written communication skills in English.
Adept at using database systems such as Salesforce or other fundraising CRMs.
