Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, bridge parts, and pressure vessels, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Study engineering drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required and plan the order of tasks to cut metal most efficiently
Construct patterns and templates as guides for layouts.
Lay out reference points and patterns on heavy metal according to component specifications.
Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions.
Verifying dimensions and part specifications.
Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present.
Marking cutting lines on material.
Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in.
Ensuring that quality control standards are met.
Maintaining a production schedule.
Testing products for their functionality.
Adhering to parts safety standards.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications: -
Must be ITI (Fitter) with 5 to 10 years of experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems
