Controlling, monitoring and optimizing Energy expenses to enhance profitability and productivity of the circle in line with COMPANY'S commitment towards environment.
Incumbent will also coordinate infrastructure up gradation activities and ensures timely payments of rent, diesel and electricity charges after validating the vendor bills.
Incumbent will be required to have in -depth understanding of the Core Processes, Planning, Execution and Implementation of all solutions for Energy Management and optimization.
This job requires the individual to work closely with cross functional Teams and third party vendors. The individual should be willing to work and travel to field and be able to handle high pressure situations.
Incumbent should be adaptable to changing work environments and have good practical knowledge to successfully perform the assigned responsibilities.
Incumbent must have at least 8-10 years experience with a reputed Telecom Infrastructure company in a similar role ( Energy management experience is preferred)
Skills Required:
1. Optimize the Energy cost
- Control on timely Electricity payments
Projecting the diesel usage plan for the month
Tracking the deviation from planned and validate justifications
Comparing it with DG On alarms, NMS reports and other sources of data
Interacting with Operations & Maintenance dept. for better Alarm compliance
Checking for pilferages of diesel
Conducting random field audits
Monthly reconciliation with OMEs within agreed parameters.
2. Minimizing disputes on Energy billing :
- Accurate Data management
Analyze the internal and external reasons of the disputes
Take Corrective measures
Accuracy of Energy billing based on Energy Consumption Report
Channelizing field staff to rectify the faulty DG/ AC meters and get readings on time
3. New initiatives towards use of Alternate source of Energy
- Recommend the potential areas of deployment
Implement new initiatives for alternate resource of Energy
Keep tracking of Energy parameters to make feasibility of new source of Energy.
-Understanding of different power sources and storage devices – EB / Diesel Generators / Battery
Banks – VRLA and Li-ion.
-Governance with OME/MS toward reducing Energy opex
4 Providing uptime by ensuring minimizing EB disconnections
Monitor the status of EB disconnected sites
Raise alarms in system and facilitation early restoration
5. Settle Billing ambiguities by liasoning with EB department
Ensure accuracy of EB bills.
Identify abnormal billing, take corrective actions by liasoning with EB dept.
Additional Skills:

Expertise in Excel, data analytics and presentations.
Collaborative working with partners, cross functional and circle teams.
Sites database management for all the own sites on Energy Consumption trend and projection Month on Month.
Monitor consumption performance of all sites metrics & capturing RCA for corrective actions
Ensuring process compliance and periodic review of processes/audits for any improvement
Ensuring alarm compliance at all the sites and monitoring these alarms for network uptime & energy cost improvement
Monitoring opex of sites & tracks for reduction for same.
Demonstrate collaborative relationship with internal & external stake holders
Demonstrate analytical skills for rent and energy cost reduction
Should have competency to solely handle new requirements

Program management:
Program management of 3P and SLA adherence
Disaster Management:
Keeping Disaster Recovery Plans arising out of Natural Calamities, flood, Land slide and mitigation plan ensuring continuous supply of Power to Sites.
Risk Management:
Evaluation of risk and mitigation (plan B availability )
Inventory Management:
Diesel Inventory management.
Tracking and penalty imposition on DFC vendor for not meeting TAT
Incidence Reporting:
Responsible for Incidence Reporting, tracking of major issues pertaining to Diesel Theft, Diesel Shortfall on account of Flood, Land slide, Economic blockade, Govt rationing of Fuel etc .
Manpower Management:
To provide direction and energize cross functional team members to work together towards shared goals by building clarity, improving communication, clearly and fixing accountability.
Educational Qualifications
Engineering or relevant degree / diploma in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics & Telecom/Electronics
Work Experience:
Total of 8-10 Years with minimum 3-5 years in telecom Infra operations management
