Profile Introduction: The Educational Counsellor is responsible for providing guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development. This role involves assessing students’ needs, providing counseling on educational and career options, and fostering a supportive environment for student success. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to assist students in academic planning, course selection, and career exploration.
Assess students' strengths, weaknesses, interests, and values to develop personalized educational plans.
Provide information on educational programs, scholarships, and financial aid options.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrative staff to support student development.
Facilitate workshops and seminars on study skills, time management, and stress management.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records and progress reports.
Stay updated on educational trends, college admissions processes, and career opportunities.
Advocate for students' needs and support their personal and academic growth.
Organize and participate in school events, open houses, and career fairs.
Provide crisis intervention and support for students facing personal challenges.
Profile Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
1-2 years of experience in educational counseling or related roles.
Strong understanding of educational systems and student development.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and stakeholders.
Proficient in using counseling software and student information systems.
Certification in counseling or related fields is a plus.
