CCTV Operator
Job description
- Monitoring Surveillance Systems:
- Operate and monitor DVR CCTV systems to ensure the security and safety of the premises.
- Keep an eye on multiple screens simultaneously to detect any unusual or suspicious activities.
- Incident Response:
- Respond promptly to alarms or distress calls and take appropriate actions.
- Notify relevant authorities or security personnel in case of security breaches.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Record and document any incidents, disturbances, or suspicious activities.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents and actions taken for future reference.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Regularly check and maintain CCTV equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, coordinating with the technical support team if necessary.
- Collaboration with Security Personnel:
- Work closely with security personnel, providing them with real-time information and support.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies when required.
- Compliance with Policies:
- Adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and privacy laws related to surveillance activities.
- Ensure ethical and responsible use of surveillance systems.
- Review and Analysis:
- Review footage as needed to investigate incidents or suspicious behavior.
- Collaborate with law enforcement or internal investigators to provide evidence when required.
- Customer Service:
- Provide support to customers or employees seeking assistance related to security concerns.
- Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor when interacting with others.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting CCTV systems.
- Knowledge of relevant software and applications used in surveillance.
- Communication Skills:
- Clear and effective communication skills to relay information to security personnel and authorities.
- Attention to Detail:
- Ability to observe multiple screens and identify even subtle changes or suspicious activities.
- Problem-Solving:
- Quick decision-making and problem-solving skills to respond to incidents appropriately.
- Teamwork:
- Ability to work collaboratively with other security personnel and departments.
- Ethical Standards:
- Adherence to ethical standards and a strong sense of responsibility regarding privacy and legal compliance.
- Physical Stamina:
- Some positions may require the ability to sit for extended periods and remain focused.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in security or surveillance may be preferred.
- Training or certification in CCTV operation and surveillance practices may be required by some employers.
