Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Education: Educate patients about cataracts, surgery options, risks and benefits.
2. Counseling: Address patients' concerns, fears and expectations.
3. Informed Consent: Ensure patients understand surgical procedures and potential outcomes.
4. Pre-Operative Preparation: Guide patients through preparation and recovery processes.
5. Post-Operative Support: Provide guidance on post-operative care and recovery.
6. Communication Liaison: Facilitate communication between patients, surgeons and healthcare teams.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
8. Follow-Up Care: Schedule follow-up appointments and monitor patient progress.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Healthcare Background: Experience in ophthalmology or healthcare.
2. Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Empathy and Compassion: Ability to provide emotional support.
4. Organizational Skills: Efficient time management and organizational abilities.
5. Knowledge of Ophthalmic Procedures: Understanding of cataract surgery and related procedures.
Work Environment
1. Ophthalmology clinics or hospitals.
