Our technology teams work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. WPB Technology has experienced significant growth and change within recent years which drove the need for us to undertake a strategic review of our current Target Operating Model and Organizational Leadership Structure. The creation of the defined Value Streams (VS) and Sub-Value Streams (SVS) drives joint delivery of business outcomes through deep partnership between Business, Markets, Technology and Digital. Principal responsibilities The Head of SRE Cards and Payments Technology works with the Value Streams providing Site Reliability Engineering leadership, vision and direction as part of a global Production Integrity and SRE team. The Head of SRE Cards and Payments will be accountable for:
working with teams to develop ways of working,
helping establish SLO’s and associated monitoring,
improve monitoring and alerting,
increasing automation,
ensure toolset adoption and coverage,
reducing toil,
improving resilience,
developing resource capability and SRE mindset
An important component of the role will be to manage delivery of impactful change through:
identifying, analyzing data to understand drivers for work and SRE associated opportunities.
engaging and influencing stakeholders, working with appropriate team members to clarify opportunities, agree approach and delivery.
establishing and leading community of practices to deliver outcomes improving customer experience, team efficiency and outcomes for team members.
Leadership & Teamwork:
Working with Value Stream technology partners focusing on historical data and future technology roadmap to identify opportunities to improve service aligned to the key tenants of SRE.
Developing clear strategic priorities that ensures resources (capability, people & funding) are enabled to address opportunities identified in Value Stream.
Working with partners to drive delivery of agreed priorities, ensuring compliance with the firms governance and controls, tracking deliveries and demonstrating achievement of expected value.
Evangelizing SRE and providing best practice guidelines and advice for both current and future state architecture and operations.
Foster and develop a customer centric ethos, use customer insight to continuously enhance a seamless customer experience, increasing loyalty, advocacy and retention.
Improve brand perception and new business share of HSBC in its WPB markets
Requirements
Outstanding Technology leader experienced in driving strategic change in a matrix environment
15+ years of Relevant and strong background in transformation, risk, good judgment, process and delivery focused.
Technical experience in Ansible, scripting, Grafana, app dynamics, Splunk
Strong leadership, stakeholder and people management skills, able to navigate across structures in complex business organization
Proven ability to work across multi-disciplinary and diverse work environments.
Leading and directing executive and non-executive work groups and effecting change through people in a large matrix organization
An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and “root causes” and drive action planning to deliver solutions
Experience of leading teams using SRE/Dev Ops tools and process
Managing operational functions, directing process reengineering and efficiency exercises
Effective communication, influencing and negotiation and strong stakeholder management skills at all levels and across diverse, global teams and key stakeholders across functions and regions
Successful experience developing and retaining critical talent
Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across regions
Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles and processes
