The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in plant sciences, with practical experience in fieldwork, laboratory techniques, or environmental studies. You will be involved in various projects, including plant identification, data collection, analysis, and contributing to research reports. Key Responsibilities: Fieldwork and Data Collection: Conduct field surveys to identify and catalog plant species. Collect and document samples for further analysis. Monitor plant health and growth in natural and controlled environments. Laboratory Work: Assist in the preparation of plant specimens for study. Conduct basic laboratory experiments related to botany. Use microscopes, lab equipment, and other scientific instruments for research purposes. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse collected data and assist in preparing research reports. Maintain accurate records of all research activities. Present findings to senior researchers and contribute to publications. Plant Cultivation: Participate in the cultivation and maintenance of plant specimens. Monitor and document plant growth, diseases, and pest infestations. Assist in the development of sustainable plant care practices. Collaboration: Work closely with a team of botanists, environmental scientists, and agricultural experts. Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute to research directions. Assist in the preparation of project proposals and grant applications. Environmental Impact Studies: Participate in studies assessing the impact of environmental changes on local flora. Contribute to conservation projects aimed at protecting endangered plant species. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: B.Sc. in Botany or a related field. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a related role, such as fieldwork, laboratory research, or environmental studies. Knowledge: Strong understanding of plant biology, ecology, and taxonomy. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, data analysis software (e.g., MS Excel, R, or similar), and basic GIS tools.
