Location: Begumpet, Hyderabad
Duration: 3-4 months
Compensation: Paid / Stipend-based
Start Date: Flexible
About Us:
Git Tech, a forward-thinking startup in the biotechnology and AI space, is developing cutting-edge solutions for early detection of neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s disease. We leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques on multimodal healthcare data to build software as a medical device (Sa MD). We are seeking highly motivated Bioinformatics Interns to support our customer discovery efforts and assist in the development of ML algorithms.
Position Overview:
We are looking for fresh graduates or students pursuing a Master's degree in Bioinformatics or related fields to join our team as interns. The role is multidisciplinary, involving both customer discovery (understanding user needs) and machine learning development (building AI models for medical data). This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain hands-on experience in both technical development and product-market fit research.
Key Responsibilities:Customer Discovery:
Conduct user research by interviewing patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders in the healthcare industry.
Collect and analyze feedback to identify pain points and opportunities in the market.
Translate customer insights into technical requirements for product development.
Assist in the design and deployment of surveys/questionnaires to gather large-scale user data.
Collaborate with the team to define customer personas and potential market segments.
Machine Learning & Bioinformatics:
Analyze complex biological and clinical data related to Parkinson’s disease, such as genomic, proteomic, or clinical data.
Preprocess and clean multimodal datasets for machine learning analysis.
Develop and apply machine learning models, including supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning algorithms, to healthcare data.
Assist in building and optimizing AI algorithms for predictive modeling of Parkinson’s disease.
Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to deploy models into a production environment.
Document and communicate research results, including data visualizations and technical reports.
Required Qualifications:
Pursuing or recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or related fields.
Strong understanding of biological datasets (genomic, proteomic, etc.) and experience in bioinformatics tools.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, particularly for data analysis and machine learning.
Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, Keras, scikit-learn).
Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts such as supervised learning, classification, regression, and clustering.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based platforms for data analysis (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
Exposure to healthcare or clinical datasets and experience in processing multimodal data.
Familiarity with customer discovery methods, including conducting interviews and gathering user feedback.
Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
Understanding of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and stakeholders.
Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Curiosity and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Time management skills to handle both customer discovery and technical tasks efficiently.
What We Offer:
Opportunity to work on a real-world AI-based project in healthcare and bioinformatics.
Mentorship from experienced professionals in bioinformatics, AI, and product development.
Hands-on experience with both customer discovery and machine learning development.
Potential opportunity for full-time employment or an extended contract based on performance.
A collaborative work environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged.
