Head of QC - Pharmaceutical Industry
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Quality Control (QC) to join our dynamic team at CURITY PHARMA. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the Quality Control Department, ensuring the highest standards of product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements. While this is a leadership position, it is not strictly managerial; we are looking for someone who is eager to be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of our QC lab.

- Lead and manage the daily operations of the QC department, ensuring that all laboratory activities are performed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain QC protocols, QC Monographs, SOPs, and testing methods in compliance with GMP, GLP, and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct hands-on testing, analysis and release of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Preparation and execution of Sampling Plans
- Control of reference and working standards
- Analytical methods development
- Preparation of Cleaning Validation Protocols and Reports
- Preparation of Stability Protocols and Reports
- Supervise, mentor, and train QC staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as Production and R&D, to ensure seamless integration of QC processes into the overall manufacturing workflow.
- Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and qualification of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all QC activities, maintaining meticulous records in compliance with regulatory standards. Review of Quality Control Analytical Records
- Participate in internal and external audits, and work closely with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues as well as any OOS results, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in QC methodologies, and regulatory changes, ensuring that CURITY PHARMA remains at the forefront of quality assurance in the medical cannabis industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline. A Master’s degree or Ph D would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Control role within the pharmaceutical industry with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience in laboratory techniques and equipment used in QC, including HPLC, GC, spectrophotometry, and microbiological testing.
- In-depth knowledge of GMP, GLP, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English and Greek is required.
