Director of Finance
Centaur (https://centaur.ag) is a leading technology company pioneering with data products which empower agricultural businesses and industrial users to improve efficiency and quality and reduce losses from insufficient monitoring, storage, and maintenance of their crops.
To support our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a highly experienced Director of Finance. In this pivotal role, the Director of Finance will report directly to the CFO and oversee key financial operations, providing strategic financial direction to support our global expansion. A strong background in corporate finance, GAAP, cross-border consolidation, and interfacing with banks and lending institutions is essential for this position.
Primary objectives of the Director of Finance role include:
1. Assisting in the development and execution of the company’s financial strategy in alignment with business goals and growth initiatives.
2. Ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting οf our group in compliance with GAAP standards and regional (Greek) standards.
3. Supporting cross-border consolidation efforts to streamline and integrate financial operations across international entities.
4. Managing relationships with investors, banks, financial institutions, and lending institutions.
5. Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
6. Identifying and mitigating financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance.
7. Providing strategic financial insights to the executive team to drive business performance and decision-making.

Job responsibilities of the Director of Finance also include:
- Directing key aspects of accounting operations, overseeing transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Leading the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts.
- Developing and implementing effective financial policies and procedures to ensure sound fiscal management.
- Assisting in the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors to ensure compliance.
- Managing cash flow and working capital to support operational needs and growth initiatives.
- Conducting financial analysis and presenting insights to the executive team and board of directors.
- Supporting M&A activities, including due diligence, valuation, and integration aspects.
- Ensuring compliance with international financial regulations and standards.
- Leading and developing the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Collaborating with company management and HR resources to align financial planning and analysis with workforce planning, compensation strategies, and benefits administration to ensure financial sustainability and support for talent acquisition and retention.
- MBA, CPA, or relevant business finance degree.
- 6+ years of corporate finance experience, including significant experience in a financial leadership role.
- Expertise in GAAP and cross-border consolidation is a strong plus.
- Strong experience interfacing with banks, financial institutions, and lending institutions.
- Excellent analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to use financial data to drive business strategy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively.
- Experience in managing relationships with investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing finance teams.
- Experience in the technology or modern agricultural industry is a strong plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
