YOUR TASKS
- Design of conductive biofilms and optimization of the respective strains
- Producing electrodes by additive manufacturing and surface functionalization
- Design and assembly of a test cell for biofilms with measurement techniques
- Quantification of biofilm formation in bioelectrosynthesis applications and in anode-assisted fermentations
YOUR PROFILE
Requirements
- completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subjects Biology, Biotechnology, Bioprocessengineering or comparable
Required knowledge and personal skills
- very good knowledge of common micro- and molecular biological working techniques (cultivation of MO, PCR, Bioinformatics, Biological assays, etc.)
- experience in working with electroactive bacteria and bioelectrochemical (microfluidic) systems
- knowledge of biofilm imaging techniques (optical coherence tomography and microscopy)
- experience in the operation of biofilm reactors
- very good command of written and spoken English
