The Position
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Drug Discovery Science CMC group in Biberach. The Biberach campus includes a thriving community of postdocs and Ph D students.
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and establish new or modified technologies of crystallization and characterization of New Chemical Entities (NCEs) including complex NCEs such as PROTACs. You will work in an interdisciplinary team in the interface between Research and Development functions. Your research will be focused on scientific, practical and project specific questions and new methodologies that align with the goals of the department and contribute to Boehringer-Ingelheim’s innovative and growing pipeline.
Post Doc : This Position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will develop and establish novel or modified technologies of crystallization of New Chemical Entities (NCEs) including complex NCEs such as beyond rule of five-compounds.
- With your expertise, you will conduct solid from screening and crystallization experiments with small amounts of material to quickly obtain reliable results.
- Moreover, you will apply all innovative solid-state analytical methods to describe the solid form properties in an all-encompassing way including single crystal structure determination (X-Ray and Electron Diffraction).
- Additionally, you will comprehensively characterize amorphous active substances to assess their developability.
- Furthermore, you will support the interface to important international development disciplines.
- You will also strongly contribute to the scientific society by publications and presentations.
Requirements
- Ph D in the field of organic chemistry, crystallography, material sciences or a comparable discipline with extensive publication record
- Strong background in different crystallization techniques e.g. High Throughput crystallization and extensive knowledge in solid state analytical characterization methods
- Excellent overview of scientific literature and already established scientific network
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Ability to think creatively and critically with strong strategic planning
- Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
