Force Protection Equipment Technician shall manage the sustainment of the full range of United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) Global Prepositioned Materiel Services (GPMS) force protection equipment. The range of service and support include storage, maintenance, out load, reconstitution, exercise, and contingency logistics support. In addition, responsibilities include maintenance and repair (M&R), Government Furnished Property (GFP), and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). The range of services is to ensure success, enable training exercises, theater contingencies, wartime operations, and other specified priorities. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).
Essential Responsibilities:
Ability to understand US Air Force Instruction (AFI), Technical Manuals (TO), Commercial Manuals, and Performance Work Statement (PWS).
Ability to provide all required maintenance according to the assigned Force Protection Maintenance Work Statement (MWS).
Conduct inventory and maintain the serviceability of all assigned equipment.
Ensure all contractual performance objectives are met.
Performs preventive maintenance actions, reconstitution, and corrective maintenance as defined by equipment manufacturer or maintenance manuals.
Performs Compliance SC Inspections on Containers as needed.
Receives, manages, accounts for stores; inspects and maintains equipment and assets.
Performs visual inspections on newly received and returned deployed assets.
Stocks and maintains parts, tools, and supplies to perform required work on assets, requisitioning additional tools and parts as needed.
Responds to inquiries concerning storage and status of assigned equipment.
Prepares assets for air/sea/road haul shipments IAW Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklist, Maintenance Action Sheets and UTC Configuration listings.
Maintain work environments that are safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, and ensure working facilities and areas present a professional atmosphere.
Ensure proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (including facilities, equipment tools, information, and Data).
Ensure compliance with contract references which include but not limited to AFPD 25-1; AFI 25-101; AFI 10-401; AFI 10-403; AFI 10-404; AFI 23-101; AFMAN 23-122; AFH 23-123 Vol 1 & Vol 2; DODD 3110.6.
Knowledgeable in safety plans, policies, and program to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Participate in safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
May be required to assist in other departments when directed to meet goals.
Ensure employee safety training and education.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Working knowledge of battery powered equipment and hydraulics.
Working knowledge of Security Forces Individual Combat Equipment (ICE).
Working knowledge of deployable/mobile weapon systems, requirements and associated technology and equipment.
Use computers & related software such as Microsoft Office and other common products used in office environments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation driver’s license.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Prefer 3 – 5 years of experience in Security Forces operations.
Experience with Do D/AF Security Forces deployment systems preferred.
Must be authorized or be able to obtain authorization to work in the EU.
Contract Requirements in accordance with Appendix J
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance
Working knowledge of Up-Armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles operation.
Working knowledge of Security Forces (SF) weapon systems, communication equipment, and associated technology and equipment.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
OCONUS: Living and working conditions at the assignment location.
Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
