Zalando’s newly formed Inspiration and Entertainment venture is seeking a Principal Designer to focus on driving the exciting future of its content creator ecosystem and related tooling.
This role sits in the Content Experiences team, which is responsible for building remarkable features and marketable experiences to support Zalando’s vision of being the go-to destination for quality fashion & lifestyle shopping and inspiration.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
You are a hands-on seasoned designer with relevant experience designing content tooling with AI-powered solutions that enable creativity and efficiency. You are passionate about designing and delivering step-changing and scalable customer-centric solutions that leverage the latest technological advances.
You have strong foundational UX skills, concept design methods, user research, and workshop facilitation are essential, along with the ability to balance big-picture thinking and craft.

• Define and design the content creator and talent experience – from joining the platform to collaborating with partners to monetize and connect their audience.
  
• Enable creators and talents to have customers truly experience their lifestyle on the platform.
  
• Explore, discover and define the entire content tooling experience, creating impactful strategies starting from definition to execution and learning.
  
• Explore, discover, and define how algorithmic tools can be leveraged in both internal expert and external creator assistance.
  
• Collaborate closely with the design team focusing on the customer-facing content experiences together defining optimal end-to-end experience.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Designers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers, using creativity and new technologies to explore innovative solutions.
  
• Serve as a design thought leader by mentoring, sharing best practices, and contributing to the broader design community, while driving impactful, customer-focused design solutions.
  

WE'D LIKE TO MEET YOU IF

• You love designing innovative technology products and place humans at the center of your design process — ensuring that geeky tech and forward-looking experience design always serve real human needs
  
• You have experience working with platforms and tools using AI-powered solutions that drive proven customer and business impact
  
• You have experience establishing and evangelizing a tooling design system and its contribution process
  
• You have worked on ambiguous strategic projects, are able to create clarity amid uncertainty, and can guide team members through such projects
  
• You are happy working hands-on from sketching user flows through wireframing high-fidelity interaction design patterns
  
• You work strategically through your hands-on example and also, for example, by imagining the creator tooling vision, crafting design principles and delivering design R&D
  
• You can quickly understand and give structure to new challenges; shape meaningful project briefs, know how to orchestrate quantitative and qualitative user research to collect insights and test hypotheses, and align diverse business stakeholders behind a common vision.
