Digital Solutions Business Applications Lead
We are now looking for experienced Business Applications Lead. This position is for overseeing the lifecycle of business applications used and developed by Mac Gregor. This includes ensuring that applications are deployed correctly, managed effectively, and that the processes are meeting the company standards.
In this position it is required to work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, and ensure that applications are meeting the business needs, and enforce that there is strategy for the market, and define a roadmap for the application landscape to achieve its goals. This position requires the vendor management aspect, and coordination of the current development team by guiding and prioritising the daily work. The position will report to the Director, Enterprise Architecture.
Key Resbonsibilities
Having the attitude of 'I am here to help you' and being a very process driven person. An senior, experienced team player with broad technical IT knowledge and IT solution architectural experience. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a prerequisite. Readiness to bring the best practices and benchmarking opportunities from the industry to the business. Key Resbonsibilities
- Responsible for the overall management of the organisation's own software applications and digital assets (Onwatch Scout, Tendering Tool, Data lake, Cloudmate, Vessel map, PEM, My Mac Gregor, VCO and other assigned tools)
- Ensure compliance to the agreed architectural targets
- Responsible of implementing digital software products for our customers on top of our AWS based Io T platform
- Managing the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of all applications
- Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define specifications
- Creates and make sure that defined development guidelines are followed
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures for software applications
- Responsible for analysing and managing dependencies and integrations to other solutions
- Continuously seek opportunities to develop the solution landscape to support business in its strategic targets

Skills and experience that would help you succeed in this role:
- Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or similar
- At least 5 years of experience in application management role
- Programming experience such as (Java, Python, Java Script, SQL), and Cloud Technologies such as AWS, GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and Azure, experience on serverless solutions
- Exposure to cloud technologies; experience with AWS services considered as an advantage (ECS, RDS, Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, S3, Dynamo DB, Athena, IAM, AWS Io T Core, AWS Greengrass, and Cloud Formation)
- Strong understanding of software development and IT operations, as well as experience in leading and managing teams
- Ability to design solutions based on enterprise level architectural guidelines
- Understanding from Dev Ops tools and techniques and Agile development methodologies
- Familiar with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and be able to apply it to the management of software applications
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal (English)
