The Student Life Coordinator is responsible for establishing and maintaining the SABIS® Student Life Organization (SLO) at the school, which empowers and motivates all students to contribute to improving the school culture and raising academic standards while contributing to the students' balanced and comprehensive development into responsible, world-class citizens.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the Student Life Organization and all activities within its departments.
Recruiting, building, and maintaining the SLO team, ensuring effective and successful coordination and cooperation with the different departments.
Motivating and inspiring all students to join the SLO, while being active within the school community, and continuously improving themselves, the SLO department, and the school.
Planning the academic year proactively based on school requirements and priorities.
Promoting SLO achievements, events, and activities throughout the academic year.
Ensuring proper training of all student prefects by teaching them how to develop academic, managerial, and leadership skills as well as how to assume responsibility.
Guiding and motivating prefects to help them meet the administrative and academic needs of the school and ensuring they have the required tools to succeed in their tasks.
Coordinating closely with the Academic Quality Controller(s) and Heads of Departments to ensure that the SLO is contributing effectively to the success of the school and raising academic standards by supporting and empowering all students.
Managing the advising curriculum and scheduling the teaching of the advising classes between the SLC and the appropriate staff member on relevant topics.
Coordinating closely with the Student Management Coordinator (SMC) to ensure the SLO is actively involved in ensuring the highest level of discipline at the school.
Meeting weekly with the School Director to review the SLO performance and yearly goals as per the principles and guidelines of SABIS®.
Holding weekly meetings with the SLO Leadership team to review the departments’ goals, achievements, and challenges to seek solutions collectively and for planning purposes.
Participating and leading school events and activities such as school trips, competitions, and games and coordinating effectively with the concerned departments and members of the administration to ensure successful implementation.
Recommending action as needed and ensuring that the SLO is running according to the principles and guidelines set by SABIS®.
Performing other related tasks as they arise and as delegated by the school management.
Ideal Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
English proficient
3+ years of relevant experience (Experience in the SABIS® Network is preferable).
