Product planning – Costing:
Involves Supply Line, installation, maintenance and project management to understand both the materials and the service cost of the product when needed
Responsible for correct product costings in non-standard cases, both for corporate and local materials
Product planning – Specs:
Accountable for detailed, custom product plans for all cases (collaborates with the SL Engineering team when needed)
Creates product specifications for corporate materials and local materials
Performs initial and revised non-standard energy calculations
When accountable for the overall engineering of the project:
Accountable for technical site surveys
Accountable for the technical content of the order between MS 0b and MS 2z
Product planning – Availability and lead times
Coordinates product lead times from Supply Line and local sourcing to Front Lines
Product planning – Installability
Ensures that the proposed product can be installed
Ensures that the cost and work effort impact of installation is part of product plans, especially in non-standard installation situations
Product planning – Maintainability
Ensures that the planned proposed product fulfils the customer’s product lifecycle needs
Identifies possible deviations to standard maintenance methods and ensures that resolutions are found
Product planning – Compliance
Ensures that the proposed product fulfils local codes, regulations and safety requirements
Ensures alignment with environmental regulations
Ensures that the planned product complies with KONE’s Engineering Policy
Key tasks in the KONE Sales process
Provides content for pre-tender and pre-booking reviews (technical solutions, costs, lead times, risks, verification of technical content in contracts)
Executes activities for a holistic solution plan
Communicates non-standard solution requirements to Supply Lines (SL, SSE) using tender tools to provide KONE efficient solutions
Communicates technical specification requirements to Customer Solution Manager (CSM) and MP Supply Line (MP SL) using tender tools to provide KONE efficient solutions in case of Major Project
Identifies Request for information (RFI) whenever applicable
Requests SL for non-standard and complex L/O or tender layouts
Coordinates good quality inputs for Sourcing to coordinate external quotation with third parties suppliers
Prepares local Pre-Cal includes corporate transfer price, installation hours, maintenance cost and all relative local materials according to latest approved KMTA guideline (Accountability for sales)
Accountable for Full shop L/O drawings or tender layouts
Provides technical argumentation of proposed solution
Performs KONE tender technical submittal, compliance and deviation list
Evaluates technical risks
Key tasks in the KONE Delivery process
Accountable for creation full shop L/O drawings or Installation layouts
Accountable for corporate material ordering
Analyze change requirements, and make proposals on new product design
Provides product related information to Project Manager and Installation Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor
Participates in internal meetings (pre-booking and pre-delivery review) and identifies deviations in material costs
Accountable for material samples ordering
Reviews final specification of contract
Reviews local Pre-Cal and KTOC to make sure, that corporate material cost is accurate during ordering without any negative impact to P2P
Performs technical submittal documentation
Handles SAP Milestone management accurate
Identifies Request for information (RFI) whenever applicable
Coordinates with Sourcing the approval related to third party supplier ordering
Accountable for technical feasibility checking and design for variation
Handles variation and revision whenever applicable
Provides input about the technical solution changes impacting P2P
May participate in customer meetings, if needed
General responsibilities
Participates in product and new service release information-sharing sessions
Provides technical trainings to Sales, Installation and Maintenance as per Front Line needs
Offers input to the product offering management about customisation, standardisation and
interface requirements for the portfolio
Contributes to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local network
Contributes and utilises the Customer Solutions Engineering case library
Handles engineering on Modernisation (MOD) including component upgrades (small VB repairs), full replacement (FBR) or existing building lifts (EBULI)
Defines local technical content in sales configuration tools
Is the primary front line technical contact person for Supply Line
Responsible for solution engineering in non-standard customer builds, also in standard product cases, for example transportation routes, special shafts and building automation systems
