Student worker with interests in mechanical design and analysis
We are seeking a student worker for assisting us in solving specific tasks within the Propulsion Design Department at MAN Energy Solutions site in Frederikshavn. You will play an important role in:
Developing a procedure for setting up finite element models of ship propeller blades in the ANSYS Workbench environment based on external loads imported from CFD models or in-house software.
Performing fatigue evaluation and setting up simplified analytical models that can be used in in-house software for use in sales and in order design.
The task may also involve design and optimization of details of the propeller blades.
Additional tasks involving design, analysis and programming may be added later.
The projects will be performed in collaboration with CFD specialists (cross-organizational) and members of the team. The tasks will be supervised by our specialists who will serve as coaches for daily sparring. We expect that the student worker will be self-driven after the introduction period.
We imagine that you:
Are a master student at Design of Mechanical Systems (preferred) or at Electro Mechanical System Design at Aalborg University.
Are interested in structural analysis of complex components using FEM.
have a structured and analytical approach to solve a problem.
Enjoy working in teams but also thrives with solving your own tasks independently.
Are curious, have an open mindset and are willing to learn.
Skills in the Ansys Workbench environment and PTC Creo Parametric is preferred but is not mandatory for the right candidate. What can you expect from us:
