We invite you to lead our dedicated team, tasked with devising and implementing a progressive governance framework across our Personal Customers, Business Customers, and Large Corporates & Institutions segments. As the Leader of Governance, you'll have the chance to expand your network within the Danske Bank Group and lead a team crucial in reinforcing a responsible risk & product governance framework.
At Danske Bank, the Governance Department is vital in ensuring compliance and strategic oversight across diverse business units and countries. We perform as the secretariat for the Business Units and Nordic Country All Risk Committees, and manage the Product Decision Desks and Product Committees. Your role will involve enhancing the efficiency, organization, and transparency of critical decision-making in risk and product management. Our team, part of the Business Control & Product Management (BCPM) function, acts as the principal risk entity for our segments, striving to safeguard products, processes, systems, data, and services, thereby delivering value to our customers and society.
Our success stems from our commitment to governance standards, creating efficient, well-managed decision forums that enhance decision-making and oversight. Our dedicated employees and streamlined processes emphasize our commitment to quality, maintaining Danske Bank’s reputation for stringent corporate governance.
The Team
Join a dynamic group of eight professionals who have merged from the Risk Governance and Product Decision Governance teams into a unified force. This team thrives on great standards and professional governance, taking pride in every task. As trusted partners within Danske Bank, they work closely with senior management, ensuring seamless governance processes. With team members in Sweden and Denmark, their collaboration enhances the bank’s governance framework on an international scale.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As the Leader of Governance, you will shape the future of governance across the organization. Your leadership will be crucial in integrating the strengths of two teams into a cohesive and efficient unit. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining high standards and ensuring continuous improvement.
We are seeking a leader with a blend of experience, strategic insight, and a knack for new technologies in governance.

- Strategic Partnership: Serve as a sparring partner to senior managers, providing insights and fostering robust governance practices across business units.
- Operational Excellence: Regularly assess and enhance the operating model to boost efficiency while adhering to compliance standards.
- Leadership and Development: Lead a diverse team in Denmark and Sweden, focusing on integration and motivation post-merger, aligning team competencies with task complexities.
- Innovation and Adaptation: Embrace technological advancements like Gen AI to integrate innovative solutions into daily operations, enhancing team efficiency.
We are seeking a leader with a blend of experience, strategic insight, and a knack for new technologies in governance.
- Experience and Expertise: At least 3 years in banking with a great understanding of governance principles.
- Communication and Collaboration: Solid stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead and engage diverse teams effectively.
- Adaptability and Leadership: Ability to lead by example, including hands-on tasks such as facilitating meetings and drafting minutes in peak periods.
- Technological Savviness: Openness to exploring new technologies to enhance operational efficiencies.
