As part of this position the professional will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of Monthly VAT/IVA returns in various tax jurisdictions globally.
Verify the sales and purchase invoices are compliant for VAT purposes and assist in the implementation of VAT reporting technology (automation).
The professional will be working with VAT/IVA compliance processes for several jurisdictions, ensuring the timely submission of returns, streamlining VAT/IVA processes, and assisting with implementation of new tax legislation. This role will help you to broaden your VAT/IVA knowledge as you will be working with VAT/IVA subject matter experts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Timely and accurate Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT/IVA filing in various tax jurisdictions globally.
- Initiate and coordinate VAT/IVA payments.
- Prepare corrective VAT/IVA returns.
- Reconciliation of tax liability GL accounts for VAT/IVA.
- Assist with external, Internal and Fiscal tax audit queries.
- Assist with day-to-day VAT /IVA queries related to fuel.
- Provide support to Indirect Tax Closing’s Month, reviewing reclass reports, elaborating and posting Journal entries, analyzing variances and handling exemptions and issues.
REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in tax law, accountancy, or related area
- 3-5 years’ experience in international indirect taxes. Candidate has a solid track record in managing, standardizing and automating indirect tax processes, as well as working with technology solutions.
- Understand indirect tax processes in an energy company with global footprint.
- Experience in ERP systems (Oracle).
- Fluent communication skills: English is a must and other European language is a plus.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Demonstrates initiative to follow up on pending issues and organize assigned work.
- Team building skills and the ability to establish effective relationships and rapport with a wide variety of individuals.
- Energetic, driven, and proactive.
- Excellent Excel skills, VBA is a plus.
- A keen interest in automation is a preferred.
- VBA is a plus.
