We have an amazing opportunity for a driven and curious Design Engineer focused on land development design to support our team.
Minimum Skills
Typically industry experience in infrastructure
Licentiate’s degree (Licenciatura) in Civil Engineering
Exercises sound judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional and innovative work.
Ability to work with multiple site base files oriented in different coordinate frames and varying units.
Ability to read and understand topographic information.
Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and cloud-based collaboration software (Google Apps, Microsoft Teams, Dropbox, etc.)
Proficient in Auto CAD and Working Knowledge of Civil 3D
Intermediate English
Preferred Skills
Typically one to two years of experience in an infrastructure design firm
Basic knowledge of civil design programs (Autodesk SSA, Epa NET, Water CAD, HEC-RAS, HY8, HEC-HMS, Arc GIS, QGIS, Bluebeam, Infraworks)
Research, design, develop, and evaluate plans, specifications, and layouts for residential, commercial, and industrial development projects, public works improvements, or other capital improvement projects using applied knowledge of civil engineering
Model alignments, profiles and corridors using Civil 3D
Model Pipe networks in Civil 3D
Prepare Earthworks and grading models
Prepare hydraulic and hydrological models and reports for storm and sanitary sewers using Ay A regulations
Design naturally and physically built structures using knowledge of biology, statistics, dynamics, materials, kinematics, hydrology, hydraulics, and geotechnics
Prepare technical reports, prepare and compile design specifications, and provide quantity takeoffs for budgets
Assist civil engineers in the inspection and construction administration process
Ensure projects comply with local zoning and ordinances, as well as national regulatory requirements
Create and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
Use drafting tools or computer-aided design (CAD) equipment and software in design work
