We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk with at least 3 years of experience in similar roles to join our finance team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the daily functions of the finance department, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting in the preparation of key financial reports.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, have strong analytical skills, and be able to manage multiple tasks while working efficiently in a dynamic environment. Previous experience in managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, tax returns, payment management, and financial analysis is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Receivable Management
Process invoices and payments to suppliers accurately and timely.
Generate sales invoices.
Manage collection and follow-up of outstanding accounts.
Reconcile accounts and resolve financial discrepancies.
Payroll Management:
Prepare the payroll for both internal and external company employees on a bi-weekly basis.
Present the payroll for C.C.S.S. (Costa Rican Social Security) and INS (National Insurance Institute).
Bank Reconciliations:
Perform monthly bank account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Identify and correct errors in bank statements or accounting records.
Support in Financial Report Preparation:
Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
Conduct budget variance analysis, track execution, and support annual budget preparation.
Budget and Cost Control:
Assist in tracking and monitoring departmental budget execution.
Monitoring of operational projects costs.
Tax Return Preparation and Submission:
Prepare tax returns such as Value Added Tax return (D-104) and Wage and Tax Statement (D-103-1).
Requirements
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other accounting systems (ERP).
Ability to work with complex numerical data and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Experience in bank reconciliations, managing accounts payable and receivable, and financial analysis.
Intermediate English.
