Hillside Elementary YMCA Pre-K Program
YMCA Pre-Kindergarten programs support families and foster the healthy growth and development of children. Our programs help children build self-confidence, learn healthy behaviors, and develop strong values. Based on the YMCA Playing to Learn emergent curriculum our all-day child care program is licensed by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are seeking full time Early Childhood Educators to join our Child Care team.
Job Requirements
Pay: $18.06-$37.59 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Pre-Kindergarten ECE Trainee to Level 4

- Must be an Early Childhood Educator - ECE
- It must be clearly shown in your resume and cover letter that you are an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and have AECENL Certification, applicants not providing this will be rejected.

Job Requirements
- Early Childhood Education Certificate, Diploma or Degree or Bachelor of Education (Primary/Elementary)
- AECENL Pre-school orientation and Early Learning Child Care Framework course considered assets
- Experience working in early learning
- Current Standard First Aid
- Acceptable Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sectors Check (new checks will be obtained upon hire with the YMCA)
- Creates a respectful and inclusive environment
- Demonstrates the ability to see the world from a child’s perspective
- Build relationships with people through behaviors such as greeting people by name, anticipating needs and providing feedback
- Demonstrates personal discipline to meet expectations and goals
- Self-manages behaviors, learns from mistakes, and seeks out feedback and coaching
- Reliable and punctual to ensure our team creates a great participant experience
